Pridnestrovie declared its independence from Moldova on 2 September 1990 and in June 1992 postal authorities in Tiraspol, the capital and administrative center of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, overprinted two definitive stamps of the Soviet Union. The overprints read: “Tiraspol \/ 30-VI-92” (Tiraspol \/ 30-June-92) and two new denominations: “20 \u043a\u043e\u043f” and “28 \u043a\u043e\u043f”. These stamps were used only from 3 to 21 July 1992 and then they were confiscated and destroyed by the Moldavian authorities in Chisinau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On November 18, 1993 the Presidium\u00a0of the PMR\u00a0Supreme Council decided to issue first stamps. The first Pridnestrovian stamp was designed by Grigoriy\u00a0Zakharovich\u00a0Bronza and was issued on December 31, 1993.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Postage stamps of Pridnestrovie are not recognized outside the country and are valid only for domestic mailing within the country. But moldavian postage stamps are used for international mail services and postal delivery to Moldova .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On May 30, 2002 the State Unitary Enterprise \u201cStamp of Pridnestrovie\u201d was established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to prevent forgery and \u00a0speculative issues of postage stamps on behalf of the PMR, since June 2016, the logo of the State Unitary Enterprise \u201cPublishing Company \u201c Stamp of Pridnestrovie\u201d has been printed in the corner of all blocks and souvenir sheets .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And since March 2019 the address of the website of the State Unitary Enterprise \u201cPublishing Company \u201c Stamp of Pridnestrovie\u201d has also been printed on the margins of all sheets .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
