Path to victory

On December 17, the presentation of a new  set of stamps “The path to Victory” took place at the Bendery Historical and Local History Museum.

The stamps of the set depict:

Twice Hero of the Soviet Union  Marshal I.S. Konev. In march-april 1944, he led the 2nd Ukrainian Front  and during the Uman-Botoshansk operation  the northern territory of present-day  Pridnestrovie was liberated.  December 16, 2022  it was 125 years  since the Marshal’s birth.

L.F. Tomilin – Hero of the Soviet Union, battery commander of the 791st Regiment of Artillery. In September 1943, for 20 days, he held a bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper.

His batteries repelled over 20 counterattacks, destroyed more than two battalions, 3 tanks, a mortar battery, an anti-aircraft gun and about 10 enemy machine-gun points.  He lived, worked and died in Tiraspol.

The series is printed in both perforated and imperforated versions.

The edition  of perforated  set  is 4200 pcs. (600 sheets each)

The edition  of imperforated  set  is 700 pcs. (100 sheets each)
