On January 20, on the territory of the Tiraspol Main Post Office from 11.00 to 12.00 a presentation of a new series of postage stamps “Planes of the Tiraspol Airfield” took place.
This is the third set on this topic.
Three stamps represent propeller-driven aircrafts:
The Bell P-63 Kingcobra was a World War II fighter aircraft manufactured by the United States. About 2,400 aircrafts of this model were delivered to the USSR under Lend-Lease.
Pe-2 is a Soviet dive bomber during the Second World War.
The An-14 “Pchelka” is a Soviet light transport aircraft intended to replace the An-2.
It‘s noteworthy that for the first time in the history of Pridnestrovian stamps miniatures were edited in the form of a rhombus.
The presentation of the new set of postage stamps was attended by a pilot V.F. Izmestyev who served at the Tiraspol airfield.
The set is printed in both perforated and imperforated versions.
The edition of the perforated set is 4800 pieces. (600 sheets each)
The edition of the imperforated set is 800 pcs. (100 sheets each)
The serial number of these set according to the catalog of postage stamps of the PMR is No. 1280 – 1282.
