On April 30, a presentation of a new series of postage stamps “Winter Olympic Games in Beijing” took place in Tiraspol.
For this set of stamps two first day covers were prepared. The first FDC with Kamila Valieva is targeted more on Russian collectors. Kamila Valieva was undeservedly accused of doping, later the charges were dropped from her. But because of this scandal, the figure skating medal was lost.
The second FDC, with an Olympic collage, is targeted more at collectors from far abroad.
The series is printed in both perforated and imperforated versions
