Ilya Trofimovich Bogdesko is our famous countryman, a native of the village of Butuchany, Rybnitsa region.
He explored himself in many areas of fine art: graphics, engraving, wall painting, most successfully in calligraphy. Bogdesko is the author of illustrations for the works of many Russian and foreign writers. You could see his compositions in the books of A.S. Pushkin, N.V. Gogol, J. Swift, M. de Cervantes and many others.
He designed more than 100 books and many of his graphic cycles have become classics of the book illustration genre. Author of the textbook “Calligraphy”. The artist designed and created his own printing typeface which is called “The Bogdesco Alphabet”.
Since 1992 he lived in St. Petersburg.
In 2002 – Head of the Graphic Workshop of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of I. E. Repin.
The presentation of the stamp block took place in the Bendery Historical and Local History Museum.
The set is printed in both perforated and imperforated versions.
