Russian and Soviet scientist, ichthyologist, geographer, climatologist, evolutionist, president of the USSR Geographical Society, and academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences—Lev Berg was remembered at the Bendery Historical and Local History Museum. A series of events were held there to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of this city native and world-renowned explorer. Scientists from Transnistria, Moldova, Ukraine, and Russia participated in the forum. Among the guests of honor were Lev Semenovich’s great-grandson and great-great-grandchildren. The State Unitary Enterprise “Stamp of Pridnestrovie” held a postage cancellation of an envelope and stamp dedicated to Lev Berg.
