It is reliably known about two visits of Emperor Alexander II to Bendery in 1861 and 1872.
In addition to the inspection of the 15th Infantry Division, the Tsar-Liberator was invited to a peasant wedding. Alexander II stayed in the house of the commandant of the Bendery fortress. This building together with the portrait of the autocrat is depicted on the souvenir sheet .
The presentation took place in the Bendery Local History Museum .
