35 years since the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan

As part of events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan  a presentation of new  stamps took place at the Palace of the Republic.

The first prints  of the commemorative seal of the first day on the prepared envelopes were made by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic V.N. Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR A.V. Korshunov and Chairman of the Government of the PMR A.N. Rosenberg.

In total, almost 650000  Soviet troops passed through the fighting in Afghanistan  including 2,200 natives of Pridnestrovie. About 15000  Soviet soldiers died  including 54 Pridnestrovians. 27 Afghans laid down their lives for the freedom and independence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The set is printed in both perforated and imperforated versions.

The edition of the perforated  set  is 4800 pcs. (600 sheets each)

The edition of the imperforated  set  is 800 pcs. (100 sheets each)

The serial number of  these sets  according to the catalog of postage stamps of the PMR is No. 1285.
