For the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Pridnestrovie the State Unitary Enterprise “ Stamp of Pridnestrovie” prepared 9 stamps depicting monuments.
These 9 stamps were divided into 3 sets. Three stamps in each set.
Earlier this year sets of stamps dedicated to the “Uman-Botoshan Offensive Operation” and “Odessa Offensive Operation” were released.
August 20 in Bendery at the cinema named after Gorky at 15.00 there was a presentation of the final set of stamps dedicated to the “Iasi-Kishinev offensive operation”.
The stamps depict:
Memorial complex ” Heroes Square “. More than 800 soldiers who died during the liberation of Bendery in 1944 are buried in his mass grave.
The stela “Monument to Liberation Heroes” built with public funds and opened in Bendery on August 22, 1984 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the city.
The “Blown Crossing” memorial located in the village of Karmanova is dedicated to the feat of military builders and engineers who played a key role in the initial stage of the Iasi-Chisinau operation. By the way this is the only monument to the engineering and construction troops in Europe.
The set is printed in both perforated and imperforated versions.
