Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church in Pridnestrovie

The experience of the Old Believers, or “Old Believers” as they are also called  is truly unique- they were able to preserve their religious and cultural identity in the most difficult natural and political conditions and didn’t lose their language and customs.

The Old Believers  as the heirs of pre-schism, pre-reform Russia  try to preserve all the dogmas, canonical status , ranks and Matins  of the Old Russian Church.

Among them  there are the two-fingered sign of the cross, immersion baptism, unison singing, canonical iconography  and special prayer clothing.

Old  Believers use old printed liturgical books published before 1652. In the Old Believer Church  the perfect and only recognized form of the image of the cross is  eight-pointed cross .
