Special cancellation  “220 years of St. Nicholas Cathedral”

On December 19, a religious procession dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral of Saint  Nicholas was held in Tiraspol. Until 1935, when the temple was destroyed, it was located on the site  of the city registry office.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Galina Antyufeyeva, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Savva, President of the Pridnestrovian State University  T. G. Shevchenko Stepan Beril, military personnel, cadets of the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense, Suvorov  military school students and townspeople.

At the registry office  where the St. Nicholas Cathedral of Tiraspol was previously located, Archbishop Savva performed a festive prayer service. Let us note that on December 19, the Orthodox Church celebrates the Memorial  Day of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

After this, a special cancellation of commemorative envelopes prepared by the State Unitary Enterprise “Stamp of  Pridnestrovie” took place. A total of 100 copies of envelopes with the stamp “Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker” from the “Churches of Transnistria” set  were issued.
