125 years since the birth of S.A. Shestakov

Semyon Aleksandrovich Shestakov (1898-1943) – commander of the 146th Fighter Aviation Regiment, Honored Pilot of the USSR (1927) and the  test pilot who flew Moscow – Tokyo – Moscow in 1927 and in 1929 he flew  Moscow – New York.

In the summer of 1943 he took part in the battles on the Oryol-Kursk Bulge. He died on August 1, 1943 in a combat flight .

A native of the city of Bendery. One of the main streets of the city is named after him.

The cancellation took place in Bendery Historical and Local History Museum. The event was attended by the nephew of Semyon Shestakov.

For cancellation, a stamp of 2017 from the series “Our countrymen ” was used.

Edition of an envelope with cancellation  is 70 pieces.
